Learning Centers
Students learn many valuable skills in centers. Social skills are very important to learn in preschool. When playing in centers, children learn how to share, communicate their wants and needs, and use their imagination during pretend play. In addition to playing in the housekeeping and building centers, children write and draw in the writing/art center, learn to read in the library center, and use math skills to work with the manipulatives. The teacher and aid are working with small groups and assisting students to make the most out of center time. Students who need to be challenged may work on the computers or I pads while teachers are helping those that need extra help. Lastly, centers are updated frequently to include thematic materials especially in the writing/art center, library center, and sensory table.
